- âLinheraptor belongs to the Velociraptorinae subfamily, making it a close cousin of Velociraptor, and it lived in roughly the same region of Asia around 72 million years ago.
- âThe nearly complete skeleton of Linheraptor was found in the Wulansuhai Formation, a rock unit in Inner Mongolia famous for producing spectacular Late Cretaceous fossils.
- âLike all dromaeosaurids, Linheraptor almost certainly had feathers covering much of its body, meaning the real animal looked far more like a terrifying bird than the scaly lizard most people picture.
